Everett Cigar & Tobacco has been that room for Snohomish County for more than twenty years. The walk-in humidor is digitally controlled and checked daily. The selection runs to around a hundred brands, from everyday smokes to allocations most shops never see, which is how the place earned the name on the sign: House of Rare Cigars.

Regulars come for the new arrivals and stay to talk. First-timers get the same welcome, the honest version of "what should I buy," and no snobbery about budget. That is the whole business model, and it has outlasted every trend since the shop opened.
